Heroes of Ivalice is back up at its new location! While we will port over as much information as possible, it will be necessary for everyone to sign up again here. Please read this post closely before you do so.
The "Game Developers" group is gone now. Those of you who were game developers - we're not firing you! We simply want you to choose which capacity you will be playing next game.
If you wish to be a RP Supervisor, you will not have access to class and formulae development. You will be allowed to play prominent PC characters during the actual game, outside of storyline purposes (your private character can do anything he wants).
Those who wish to work on mechanics will be Game Masters. Game Masters, like before, will not be allowed to play prominent PCs, and will of course have access to all formulae. Let it be noted that it is still very possible for Game Masters to play the game and enjoy it - you just can't rule kingdoms or control enormous amounts of power with your PC (though your NPCs probably will).
You will also observe there are now four sections of authority, when before there were three. Three of these are very familiar to you, though the criteria we select them with may be different.
Administrators run the game. Their word is final, and they decide by consensus when possible. When consensus is not possible, the matter will be handled by the Head Administrator (Kairo). Hopefully these situations will not arise often.
An Administrator's word is final, regardless of who they are. You will not appeal them to another administrator, or to Kairo.
Game Masters and RP Supervisors are very self-evident and unchanged.
You will also observe a group called 'Forum Admin', and these people have administrative powers. At the moment, they are Typhon and Deng. Forum administrators do not run the game. Their purpose is to run the forum. They are not involved in day to day discussion of plot, mechanics, balance, or development. Their administrative powers exist purely to allow them to administer the board itself, to deal wth spammers or rulebreakers, or to update or add features to the site.
Do not take your problems, concerns, plots, or anything else to the Forum Admins. They are -not- empowered to deal with it, and they will simply refer the matter to Admins or GMs as appropriate.
If you were a GM, RPS, or Developer on the old board, please PM Kairo to inform us what you were, or, for Developers, which group you wish to join now.

Veni, Vidi, Vici.
Quoting Caesar is very important when installing yourself as an enlightened, benevolent tyrant.
Atten-shun! Thanks to Typhon, you all now have more avatar options available in your profiles. That is all.

"Yes sir, ma'am!" Barashkukor slammed a salute. "Please, ma'am, permission to designate this squad Black Squad?"
"No!" She rattled a sheaf of papers under Barashkukor's pointed nose. "We already have fifteen Black Squads, twelve Dark Squads, four Raven Squads, three Midnight Squads, one Sable Squad, one Ebony Squad, and," she consulted a sheet of paper, "one Pink Squad. Hmm. Yes. Well...we're all a little worried about Pink Squad..."
Yes, we're aware our current host makes the Leaning Tower of Pisa look stable.
Also, yes, we're doing something to fix it now, and, even if it does go back down, it's not going to significantly slow down development - The forum database is being backed up now just in case.
I have the distinct pleasure to announce that Jar-Ras-Ek has been promoted to Administrator status. Give him a pat on the back for his hard work.

First: SGN and Mosaic have joined as Roleplay Supervisors, and Doomaflatchi has returned as a Roleplay Supervisor!
Second: Ruler signups start tomorrow. The Game Rules forum will reappear tonight, when Ivalice HQ is unlocked, at Midnight, CST.
Third: As something to help you get started...I went ahead and put Chapter 4 (Job abilities) in here now. It'll go over to join it's fellows tonight.
Just to make this official and to clear confusion: No, Ruler Sign Ups are not open. That was the April Fools joke. However, you can expect Ruler Sign Ups to open some time this month. Stay tuned!

Just a notice to everyone - The site will be going down for about 24 hours starting sometime later on today. It will be back up by the beginning of the week, at the latest. After that, we should be doing much better, as far as hosting goes!

Okay, folks, we're back up, and we're continuing with the finalization of development. We'll be keeping with updates over the next week or two, letting you guys know how close we are.
There has been a minor change to the IO application- go read it.
In essence, the fact that an IO must have 5 PC members was left of. We apologize for the mistake; edit the posts to reflect the new required information as soon as possible, please.
Thank you for your time!
A note for all potential Rulers, to consider when writing your bios:
V1 took place in 9 AL. V2 takes place in 312 AL. So, there is no way any of your characters could have borne witness to the rise of Victorianism, the start of the Lucavi War, or anything of that nature. If your character is extremely old, he or she may have seen the fall of the Geralis Dynasty, but that is the most recent major event that could possibly be remembered from firsthand experience.

<Jar> Mord, that may be the dumbest idea I've ever heard you say. And I've heard some dumb ones.
Alright, Independent Organizations. Something needs to be made clear.
These are Independent from Kingdoms, independent of military. A good rule of thumb is this - Does your IO have a purpose beyond kingdom conflict, even including Lucavi Conflict? There have been numerous recorded prblems with Mercenary, Assassination, and other such Independent organizations.
You should consider what an IOT would look like for the group, and realize raiding kingdoms and such or killing random citizens does not lead to a proper IOT. As such, all Independent Organizations must now also submit a sample Independent Organization Turn in order to be confirmed for starting.
Last, but not least, realize that there are no restrictions on creating IOs in game, and that you don't have to rush if you don't want to.
Another note for potential Rulers:
Think very carefully before inventing a militant Victorian regime and placing it in an Ordalian city. The corollary is also true; fundamentalist Faran regimes in Ivalice should also be very cautiously weighed. The consequences of the careless placement of a religiously-driven government could be most unpleasant. As a general rule, you ought to put serious consideration into your mode of government and the values of your regime - a few careless words might doom your kingdom before it ever gets on its feet.

Yet another note that needs to go up.
Do not PM GMs about starting in a GM-controlled organization. Notably, the churches. If you wish to be a priest, you must go through being ordained one in-game, and if you want to be a Shrine Knight, you're going to have to walk up to the Audience Hall and go through the gauntlet. This goes for all organizations, not just churches, so keep this in mind.
The new CT system somehow didn't get in Chapter 10.
A description of it is now present. Questions go to the usual place.
Also, pay attention to the Knight disarm skills over the next few days. A change may be made (Specifically, adding a delay to re-equipping)
